The Radio museum takes its name from the artist Antonis Τavanis. Τhe collection was donated by the German Wilfried Soeps. A visit to Radio Museum "Antonis Τavanis reveals over 140 rare radios made from the beginning of 1917 until 1960.

The Museum arose out of from the passion and love of the scientist, electrical engineer and university professor Wilfried Soeps for the Radio, and the interest of people in Lafkos in culture. Ever when he was still a student, Wilfried Soeps got to know Greece through the writings of ancient Greek literature and history. In the early 60s he traveled and encountered its natural beauty. He loves Greece and intends to live out his golden years here.

Soep has been a collector of radio sets since 1985 and his collection now stands at more than 2,700 sets  The German professor had one condition before the opening of the museum: that it should bear the name of the artist Antonis Τavanis who he passed away two years before the opening.

Antonis Τavanis was a self-taught painter and sculptor with rich social and collective action from an early age, he constantly expanded his artistic pursuits to include stone carving, painting, wall compositions with original materials such as old clocks mechanisms and jewelry.
